Captain Atom (New Earth)

Secret Origins: Captain Nathaniel Adam was dead. Died on Vietnam fighting for his country and found with no life left in a crashed jet. Or it seemed he had, in actuality, Nathaniel was taken and seemingly aved by the secret organization, ARGUS.
While in their facility, Adam was given two choices, succumb to his internal bleeding and head trauma after the crash, or become a member of Project Reborn as one of their many candidates to become the ''new'' Captain America, and ultimately, Adam chose the latter.
The New Captain: A few days later, Nathaniel was placed on the experiment that planned to turn him into a super-soldier, placed in a chamber with parts of an alien alloy that would melt onto his body and allow him to survive the many nuclear blasts he would be treated to. Ultimately, the experiment worked but instead of making Nathaniel un-previous to any radioactive materials, it turned him into a living nuclear reactor.
Figuring they should need to test his abilitties, Nathaniel was placed into a team of individuals which had seemingly been treated to similar experiments, the Ultimates. During his membership in the team, Adam learned most of the reach of his abilitties, mostly with the help of Dr. Heinrich Megala, who figured most of Adam's, now called Captain Atom, new abilitties including those of Energy Manipulation, Absorption, Projection, being able to control Nuclear and Radioactive energy, Teleportation, Flight, Duplication, enhanced Speed and Reflexes and Molecular manipulation, theorized even by Megala that Adam could be the most powerful metahuman to exist yet.
Unlimited: However, Adam eventually found out the Goverment wanted to use him as a potential nuclear weapon against the ones owned by Russia in case a potential nuclear war began. Despite his alliegency with the country, Adam couldn't stand the possibility of being used as just a weapon for destruction, thus leaving the Ultimates and looking for a better way to use his powers as a solo act.
By 2013, Adam was invited to become a part of Batman's new JL project, JL Unlimited, which would served as different teams composed of the greatest heroes of Earth that would themselves go over the world and help in cases the regular League wouldn't be able to do or able to be there.
